6. Updates and Results

BDBC advised that a Hazel tree in the Conservation Area at 33 London Street is being felled because of disease.

(Cllr H Titcomb joined the meeting at this point.)

7. Tree Warden

Training has been rearranged to take place on 29th March 2017 from 10.00 – 11.30 am at the Town Hall.

8. Correspondence

  • The developers of the old Methodist Chapel on London Street had offered the opportunity to move the road sign and BT green box on Test Road back against the new wall before the surrounding surface is made good.  This would increase the width of the pavement for all users.  It was agreed to ask BDBC if the road sign could be taken down and reattached to the wall, and to ask BT if the green junction box could be moved back against the wall.
  • Street names at the Bloswood Lane development – BDBC had confirmed the new street names, relating to Richard Adams, as recommended by the Town Council.
  • Email from Cllr A Jordan regarding WTC’s objection to the second phase of the Bloswood Lane development – Members agreed that the Town Council’s objections on the grounds of overdevelopment above the original specification should be strengthened and revised.  Cllr Jordan was requested to draft a detailed proposal to be circulated to Members for comment before bringing it to the next Development Committee.  It was further agreed that the NPSC could raise an objection on their own behalf. ACTION: AJ
